
Sea Power , formerly known as British Sea Power , is a British indie rock band from Brighton, England, formed in 2000. Their music combines elements of guitar-driven pop rock, post-punk, and psychedelia. The band has achieved chart success: since January 2003, six of their singles have entered the UK Top 30 Singles Charts, including "It Ended on an Oily Stage" Their third studio album "Do You Like Rock Music?" was nominated for the prestigious Mercury Prize in 2008. Sea Power have made a significant contribution to the development of indie rock, drawing inspiration from bands such as The Cure , Pixies , and Joy Division .
