Brian Welch is an American guitarist and one of the founding members of the rock band Korn , born in 1970. The band, formed in the early 1990s, became a key figure in the development of the nu metal style, releasing hits such as "Freak on a Leash" and "Falling Away from Me" In addition to playing guitar, Welch also performs backing vocals. In 2005, he left Korn to focus on his solo career and spiritual development, but later returned to the band. His contributions to alternative rock and nu metal remain significant.
