Brent Faiyaz is an American R&B singer from Columbia, Maryland, born in 1995. Initially starting as a SoundCloud rapper in the early 2010s, he released his debut EP Black Child in 2013, showcasing both his singing and rapping skills. He gained prominence with his feature on GoldLink's 2016 single "Crew", which peaked at #45 on the Billboard Hot 100, earned six-time platinum certification from the RIAA, and received a Grammy nomination for Best Rap/Sung Collaboration. In 2017, he released his debut studio album Sonder Son. Brent Faiyaz is recognized for his contributions to modern R&B and soul music.
