Box Car Racer was an American punk band formed in San Diego, California, in 2001. The group was a side project of blink-182 guitarist and vocalist Tom DeLonge, created to explore darker musical themes that he felt were unsuitable for blink-182. Box Car Racer released a single self-titled album in 2002, which included tracks like "I Feel So" and "There Is". The band embarked on a brief tour from October to November 2002. Despite rumors of a second album, the project was discontinued, and its members returned to their primary bands. Box Car Racer remains a notable experiment in early 2000s punk rock.
