Bolt Thrower is a British death metal band formed in 1986 in Birmingham, England. They have become known as "Britain's most consistent and enduring death metal band," maintaining their sound despite changes in the music industry. Their first album was released on Vinyl Solution Records , after which the band signed with Earache Records , where they achieved significant commercial success. Bolt Thrower later moved to Metal Blade Records . The band's name derives from the popular strategy game Warhammer . Bolt Thrower have made a significant contribution to the development of British death metal, remaining faithful to the genre throughout their career.
