Blind Guardian is a German metal band formed in 1984 in Krefeld. The band is considered one of the pioneers of power metal, although their music often transcends the genre, incorporating elements of epic metal. Vocalist Ханси Кюрш writes lyrics inspired by the works of J.R.R. Tolkien, Michael Moorcock, and Stephen King, as well as myths and legends from various cultures. Among the band's most famous songs are "Mirror Mirror" and "The Bard's Song" Blind Guardian has made a significant contribution to the development of epic metal, becoming a cult band among fans of the genre.
