Billy Gibbons (born December 16, 1949) is an American rock musician, the founding guitarist, and vocalist of the band ZZ Top . He is the band's primary songwriter and is known for his unique guitar technique, including the use of coins as a pick and artificial harmonics. Billy Gibbons has been repeatedly included in Rolling Stone magazine's lists of the greatest guitarists of all time (2003, 2011, 2023). Among ZZ Top best-known hits are "La Grange" , "Sharp Dressed Man" , and "Gimme All Your Lovin'" . His contribution to the development of hard rock and rock music in general remains significant.
