Billie Marten is a British singer-songwriter and musician from Ripon, North Yorkshire, born in 1999. Her stage name was chosen to keep her real identity private, as her career began during her teenage years. She first gained attention at the age of twelve when a YouTube video of her singing went viral. By fifteen, she had released her debut EP in 2014, followed by a second EP in 2015. In late 2015, she was nominated for the BBC Sound of 2016 award. Since then, she has released four critically acclaimed albums: "Writing of Blues and Yellows", "Feeding Seahorses by Hand", "Flora Fauna", and "Drop Cherries". Her work has significantly contributed to the alternative and folk-pop genres.
