Bill Conti (full name William Conti ) is an American composer and conductor born in 1942. He is best known for writing scores for iconic films, including Rocky , For Your Eyes Only , and the Dynasty television series. He won an Academy Award for Best Original Score for The Right Stuff . His composition " Gonna Fly Now " from Rocky and the title song from For Your Eyes Only were also nominated for Oscars. Conti holds a record for having served as music director for the Oscars 19 times. His contribution to the soundtrack genre remains significant.
