Bernie Leadon is an American musician, singer, and songwriter born in 1947. He is best known as one of the founding members of The Eagles, a band that became a cornerstone of country rock. Before joining The Eagles, he was part of three influential country-rock groups: Hearts & Flowers, Dillard & Clark, and The Flying Burrito Brothers. A skilled multi-instrumentalist with roots in bluegrass, Leadon introduced elements of this genre to a broader audience during his time with The Eagles. In 1998, he was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame for his contributions to the band and the genre.
