
Bernard Sumner is a British musician born in 1956, known as the founder and co-writer of most compositions for the rock bands Joy Division and New Order. In Joy Division, he served as a guitarist and keyboardist. Following the band's transformation into New Order, he became the lead vocalist and contributed to their iconic hits like "Blue Monday". From 1989 to 1999, he collaborated with Johnny Marr of The Smiths in the project Electronic. Sumner's work has significantly shaped the post-punk and electronic music genres.
