Bering Strait was a Russian country music band active from 1996 to 2006. The group blended traditional country music with Russian folk influences, creating a unique style sometimes referred to as "redgrass." Known in the U.S. as "Siberian Heatwave", they gained international recognition in 2003 with a Grammy nomination and a feature on the prestigious American news program "60 Minutes". Despite critical acclaim, the band did not achieve significant commercial success. Bering Strait remains notable for their innovative fusion of genres and their contribution to expanding the boundaries of country music.
