Belle Epoque was a French female vocal trio from Paris that existed from 1977 to 1979. The group gained popularity thanks to their cover version of the song "Black Is Black" originally performed by the Spanish group Los Bravos in 1966. Among Belle Epoque best-known songs are the singles "Miss Broadway" (1977) and "Bamalama" (1978). Their music combined elements of dance-pop and pop, making them a prominent figure in the European music scene of the late 1970s. Belle Epoque contributed to the popularization of disco music in France and beyond.
