
Beirut is an American indie band formed in 2006. Initially a solo project by multi-instrumentalist and vocalist Zach Condon, the project evolved into a full band. Their first performance with a brass section took place in New York in May 2006 during the release of their debut album, "Gulag Orkestar". Known for blending Eastern European folk influences with indie sensibilities, the band has released critically acclaimed albums such as "The Flying Club Cup" and "No No No". Beirut has significantly contributed to the indie genre with their unique fusion of global musical styles.
