Basil Poledouris (full name: Бэзилис Константин Поледурис ) is an American film composer of Greek descent, born on August 21, 1945. He rose to fame by creating soundtracks for iconic films such as "Conan the Barbarian" , "RoboCop" , and "The Hunt for Red October" . His music was distinguished by powerful orchestral arrangements and deep emotional impact. During his career, Basil Poledouris collaborated with leading Hollywood directors and gained recognition as one of the preeminent composers in the film music genre. His contribution to the development of soundtracks left a significant mark on the industry. Basil Poledouris died on November 8, 2006.
