Avatar is a Swedish metal band from Gothenburg, formed in 2001 by drummer Йоном Альфредссоном and guitarist Йонасом Ярлсбю . The band has released nine studio albums, two EPs, and one demo. Their song "New Land" reached number 20 on Billboard Mainstream Rock Songs chart in May 2017, bringing the band success at American radio. Avatar is known for its unique style, which combines elements of melodic death metal and experimental metal, as well as a vibrant stage presence that sets them apart from the genre.
