Austra is a Canadian musical collective from Toronto, formed in 2009. The original lineup included vocalist Кэти Стелманис , Майя Постепски , and Дориан Вольф . The group initially performed under the name Private Life but later changed it to Austra , a portmanteau of Stelmanis's middle name and the name of the Latvian deity of dawn. The group is known for its albums in the genres of electronica and alternative dance music. Since 2020, Austra has become a solo project of Кэти Стелманис , continuing to contribute to the electronic music scene.
