Art Neville (1937–2019) was an American singer, songwriter, and keyboardist from New Orleans, USA. He became a key figure in the New Orleans music scene, working in the genres of jazz, R&B, and chillout music. Neville was a founding member of such influential groups as The Meters and The Neville Brothers , who contributed significantly to the development of funk and R&B. Among his most famous compositions are "Cissy Strut" and "Hey Pocky A-Way" His work had a profound influence on subsequent generations of musicians, cementing New Orleans' status as a center of American music.
