Aqua is a Danish bubblegum pop band formed in 1989. The band consists of Norwegian Лене Нюстрём and two Danes, Рене Дифа and Сёрена Растеда . Former member Клаус Норрен left the group in 2016. Aqua gained worldwide fame thanks to the hit "Barbie Girl" which became a hallmark of the bubblegum pop genre. Their album "Aquarium" (1997) achieved commercial success, cementing their status as international stars. The band contributed significantly to the popularization of the light and energetic pop sound of the 1990s.
