Antonio Sánchez is a Mexican drummer and composer born in 1971. He is best known for his work with jazz guitarist Pat Metheny and for creating the score for the 2014 film "Birdman" . This score earned him Golden Globe and BAFTA nominations, as well as a Grammy , Critics' Choice Movie Award , and Satellite Award . Sánchez has also released several solo albums showcasing his mastery of jazz. His contributions to the jazz genre include innovative approaches to rhythm and percussion.
