Andrea Echeverri is a Colombian pop and rock singer and guitarist, born in 1965. She is best known as the lead vocalist and acoustic guitarist of the band Aterciopelados. Before her music career, she earned a degree in fine arts from the University of Los Andes and worked as a ceramicist. In March 2005, she released her self-titled debut solo album under Nacional Records, a label dedicated to promoting Latin alternative music. According to NPR's Felix Contreras, her career reflects the evolution of Latin alternative music. Andrea Echeverri has significantly contributed to the genre's global recognition.
