Андре Превин (real name Андреас Людвиг Привин ) is an American conductor, pianist, and composer. He was born in 1929 in Germany but later emigrated to the United States. He worked in jazz and classical music, and also composed music for film. Превин won several Academy Awards for Best Music, including two consecutive awards, a rare achievement. His distinguished work includes collaborations with leading orchestras around the world and his contributions to the development of film music. Превин was awarded the title of Honorary Knight Commander of the Order of the British Empire, recognizing his contribution to world culture.
