Andre Matos (full name: Andre Coelho Matos ) was a Brazilian musician born on September 14, 1971. He was a vocalist, pianist, and composer in the heavy metal and power metal genres. Matos rose to prominence as a member of the bands Viper , Angra , and Shaaman . After leaving Shaaman in 2006, he focused on his solo career. Among his best-known works are the albums "Angels Cry" and "Holy Land" with Angra . His contributions to the development of power metal made him a cult figure in the genre. Andre Matos passed away on June 8, 2019, leaving behind a significant musical legacy.
