Amaia Montero , born August 26, 1976, in Irun, Spain, is a Spanish pop singer. She is best known as the vocalist of the band La Oreja de Van Gogh , with whom she performed from 1996 to 2007. During her time with the group, she contributed to such hits as "Rosas" and "La Playa" After leaving the group Amaia Montero launched a successful solo career, releasing several albums, including her self-titled debut in 2008. Her work has had a significant influence on Spanish-language pop music.
