Alpinestars is a British musical duo from Manchester, formed in 1999 by Richard Woolgar and Glyn Thomas. The band worked in the pop and alternative genres, releasing two studio albums during their existence. Alpinestars gained fame for the single " Carbon Kid ," featuring Placebo frontman Brian Molko.
