
Allan Clarke is an English rock singer born in 1942 in the United Kingdom. He is best known as a founding member and the original vocalist of The Hollies, a band that achieved international success with hit singles like "On a Carousel", "Carrie Anne", "Jennifer Eccles", and "Long Cool Woman in a Black Dress". Clarke co-wrote many of the band's iconic songs. After retiring from performing in 1999, he made a return to the music industry in 2019. In 2010, he was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, cementing his legacy in the rock and pop genres.
