Alison Mosshart, born in 1978 in the United States, is an American singer, model, and songwriter known for her work in alternative and indie rock. She began her career in 1995 as a member of the Florida-based punk rock band Discount, which disbanded in 2000. In the same year, she co-founded the indie rock duo The Kills with British guitarist Jamie Hince, performing under the stage name VV. Additionally, she is a key member of the supergroup The Dead Weather. Her contributions to alternative rock have made her a prominent figure in the genre.
