Alex Cuba, born Alexis Puentes in 1974, is a Cuban-Canadian singer-songwriter known for his blend of Latin music, pop, and world music. Singing in both Spanish and English, he has earned significant acclaim, including two Juno Awards for World Music Album of the Year: in 2006 for Humo de Tabaco and in 2008 for Agua del Pozo. In 2010, he won a Latin Grammy for Best New Artist. His 2015 album Healer earned another Latin Grammy and a Grammy nomination. Most notably, his 2021 album Mendó won the 2022 Grammy for Best Latin Pop Album. Alex Cuba continues to enrich Latin music with his innovative style.
