
Алессандро Скарлатти (1660–1725) was an Italian composer from Palermo, known as one of the founders of the Neapolitan school of opera. Working in both opera and vocal music, he created over 100 operas, including works such as "La Griselda" and "Il Mitridate Eupatore" . His work also includes cantatas and sacred works such as "Stabat Mater" . Скарлатти had a significant influence on the development of Baroque music, particularly in the field of opera, and inspired many composers of his time and subsequent generations.
