Kyo is a Japanese rock musician, singer-songwriter, and poet, born February 16, 1976. He is the vocalist and frontman of the metal band Dir en grey , which he founded in 1997 after joining the visual kei band La:Sadie's . Since 2013, Kyo has also led the experimental rock project Sukekiyo . His choice of musical career was influenced by Buck-Tick vocalist Atsushi Sakurai. In 2021, Kyo announced a new project called Petit Brabancon . His work has had a significant influence on the development of the Japanese metal and rock scenes.
