2NE1 was a South Korean hip-hop/pop group formed by YG Entertainment on May 6, 2009. The group's name stands for "New Evolution of the 21st Century." The group consisted of four members: Park Bom, Park Sandara, CL , and Minji. The group debuted with the single "Fire" which quickly gained popularity. Among their most famous hits are "I Am the Best" and "Come Back Home" 2NE1 made a significant contribution to the development of K-pop , becoming one of the first girl groups to achieve international recognition. The group officially ended its activities in 2016.
