Johnny "Guitar" Watson was an American musician born in 1935. His career spanned over forty years and encompassed genres such as blues, rhythm and blues, and funk. Inspired by the style of T-Bone Walker , Watson became known as a virtuoso electric guitarist and flamboyant showman. Among his most famous compositions are "A Real Mother for Ya" and "Superman Lover" which influenced the development of funk.
