Толчок в плечо, горит сигнал.

От пустоты темно в глазах.

Ещё чуть-чуть — разбег так мал!

Лететь мешает вязкий страх.

Кругом темно, куда ни ткни,

Такое мне не по зубам.

Спаси, помилуй, сохрани,

Ты видишь сам — я всё отдам

За свет в конце туннеля.

По направляющей имён

Скольжу всё дальше в облака.

Но кто-то встал передо мной,

И сразу — цепи на руках.

— Кто ты такой?

Уйди с пути.

Не загораживай подъём.

Нам не взлететь с тобой вдвоём.

Ищи свой способ и лети

На свет в конце туннеля.

А он хохочет мне в лицо:

— Иди, гуляй перед концом.

Ведь от меня не улететь…

— Да кто ты?

— Так что, пора?

Уже сейчас?

Позволь хоть спеть в последний раз.

А смерть глядит и говорит:

— Да нет, не бойся, не горит.

И тихо шепчет, как в бреду:

— Когда попросишь, я приду…

И замирает страшный смех,

И в темноте горит для всех
