Дождь, звонкой пеленой наполнил небо майский дождь.

Гром, прогремел по крышам, распугал всех кошек гром.

Я открыл окно, и веселый ветер разметал все на столе —

Глупые стихи, что писал я в душной и унылой пустоте

Грянул майский гром, и веселье бурною, пьянящею волной

Окатило.

Эй, вставай-ка и попрыгай вслед за мной!

Выходи во двор и по лужам бегай хоть до самого утра!

Посмотри, как носится смешная и святая детвора!

Капли на лице — это просто дождь, а может — плачу это я.

Дождь очистил все, и душа, захлюпав, вдруг размокла у меня.

Потекла ручьем прочь из дома к солнечным, некошеным лугам,

Превратившись в пар, с ветром полетела к неизведанным мирам.

И представил я: город наводнился вдруг веселыми людьми,

Вышли все под дождь, хором что-то пели, и плясали, черт возьми.

Позабыв про стыд и опасность после с осложненьем заболеть,

Люди под дождем, как салют, встречали гром — весенний первый гром.

Rain, the May rain filled the sky with a ringing veil.

Thunder rumbled across the roofs, thunder scared away all the cats.

I opened the window, and a cheerful wind scattered everything on the table -

Stupid poems that I wrote in stuffy and dull emptiness

May thunder roared, and fun in a stormy, intoxicating wave

Doused.

Hey, get up and jump after me!

Go out into the yard and run through the puddles even until the morning!

Look how funny and holy children are running around!

Drops on the face - it's just rain, or maybe it's me crying.

The rain cleansed everything, and my soul, sloshing, suddenly got wet.

It flowed like a stream away from the house to sunny, unmowed meadows,

Turned into steam, flew with the wind to unknown worlds.

And I imagined: the city was suddenly flooded with cheerful people,

Everyone went out into the rain, sang something in unison, and danced, damn it.

Forgetting about shame and danger after getting sick with a complication,

People in the rain, like fireworks, met the thunder - the first spring thunder.
