Домой пришёл, в солдатском цинковом гробу.

Рыдает мать, и словно тень стоит отец

Для них он был, для них он был ещё юнец

А сколько их, не сделав в жизни первый шаг

И даже в миг, когда на белый снег упал

Растаял снег, исчезло имя на снегу.

Он до рассвета, всего лишь часа не дожил

Упал на снег, и грудью родину закрыл
