It seems hotter here today,

So much hotter than yesterday.

I think it’s hotter than the day before.

So much hotter than tomorrow.

I’ll just fill up space

Making obvious statements on the weather.

I’m hotter than a turkey in the oven,

Hotter than a bat being boiled by a coven,

Hotter than a fish in the summer sand,

Hotter than a cat on fire.

I’ll just fill up space

By comparing animals and the weather.

And then I’ll kill some time

Drinking Mexican beer from Texas.

Everything feels fine.

I remember getting caught in the train.

I remember smoking cigarettes.

I don’t remember getting drunk in Kentucky.

I remember winning money on a horse.

I was lucky.

So I’ll fill up space

With stories from the past.

And then I’ll kill some time

Singing songs.

I wish that this summer would last.
