Vor lauter Regen kann ich kaum noch was sehen.

In Bayern 3 luft das Lied von «Big John»

Und ich bin fast allein auf der Autobahn.

Nur hinter mir, da rhrt ein schwerer Truck.

Von oben bis unten nur schwarzer Lack.

Er blendet auf, dann zieht er vorbei

Und mir wird ganz kalt das ist Zauberei.

Am steuer da sitzt ne blasse Gestalt.

Halb Geit halb Mensch und viel zu alt.

Ich hab den Kerl schon frher mal gesehen,

Doch er ist lngst tot das soll einer verstehen!

In Wrzburg da fahr ich zum tanken raus.

Will nach Sden will endlich nach Haus.

Der Tankwart sagt:"Was ne scheuliche Nacht

Die hat schon so manchen ins Grab gebracht".

Vor zwanzig Jahren an diesem Unglckstag,

Da starb mein Freund in einem schwarzem Truck.

Ein gelber Vw der brachte ihn in Not,

Er fuhr von der Brcke in den Tod.

Hundert Trucker gaben ihm das Geleid.

Sie fuhren zum Grab.

Kein Weg war zu weit.

Dann jagten alle den Kerl im Vw,

Doch der war lngst weg wurdґ niemehr gesehen.

Noch 10 km bis Ingolstadt.

Noch eine Ausfahrt dann hab ichґs geschafft.

Doch dann pltzlich Blaulicht!

Die Polizei!

Und dann muss ich an einem schwerem Unfall vorbei.

Im Graben da liegt er der gelbe Vw.

Der Fahrer ist tot, das kann ich noch sehen.

Und in der Ferne, das knnte ich schwren,

Kann ich das Lachen meines Freundes hren.

Friday the 13th just after 10am.

I can hardly see anything because of the rain.

In Bayern 3 the song from “Big John” is playing

And I'm almost alone on the freeway.

Just behind me, there is a heavy truck.

Just black paint from top to bottom.

He fades in, then he passes

And I get cold, it's magic.

A pale figure is sitting at the wheel.

Half mind, half human and way too old.

I've seen that guy before

But he's long dead, someone should understand that!

In Würzburg I drive out to fill up.

Wants to go south finally wants to go home.

The gas station attendant says: "What a horrible night

It has brought so many to their graves."

Twenty years ago on that unlucky day

Then my friend died in a black truck.

A yellow van brought him into distress,

He drove off the bridge to his death.

A hundred truckers made him suffer.

They drove to the grave.

No way was too far.

Then everyone was chasing the guy in the Vw,

But he was long gone and was never seen again.

10 km to Ingolstadt.

One more exit then I got it done.

But then suddenly blue lights!

The police!

And then I have to pass a serious accident.

In the ditch there he lies the yellow VW.

The driver is dead, I can still see that.

And in the distance I could swear

I can hear my friend's laughter.
