How to Be Young - The Receiver

Recall how to begin, how to be young.

We both know how to give up when it grows old.

Grain shows unnatural shine, builds up over time

What our sight wants to forget, needs to retire.

When your vision returns, cover mine.

Dull down the glares coming off of what happened.

I’m fixed on all the wrong things.

Until my eyes adjust please stand right there in front,

In front of me.

Lenses gather a dust when you’re hard to find.

Then all focus is on the film we meant to ignite.

But I want to see when we began and how to be young.
