Stuck on the surface since that night

I put the thorn there in my side

Black snake’s in the branches eating eggs

Eating all the baby birds

I hear the ocean

I think I see the light

There was fire in the branches

A face hidden in shadows with a voice so inviting

It promised my hearts desires

Never sensing the evil behind those eyes

Door closed sealing my fate- flame of potential died that day
