Och pianot rullas ut

Så är jag ensam, lika ensam

Som jag var förut

Är det skönt att andas ut

Och vila benen

Bakom scenen

Vinden är svag när klockorna slår

Och en hund springer tyst genom stan

Mitt pepparminttoy har en smak av igår

Fast det är nytt för dan

Jag går förbi en tobaksaffär

Där en löpsedel har kvar en flik

En skrattande mås och en trött militär

Det är min ända publik

När showen är slut…

Luften är sval och jackan är kall

På en vägg står det «stop the war»

En svart siluett smyger sig in på Pigalle

Och sista bussen går

Natten är kort och vägen är lång

Så jag springer rätt fort hem till dig

Jag kastar en sten på ditt fönster en gång

Men ingen öppnar för mig

När showen är slut

Och pianot rullas ut

Så är jag ensam

Då har clownen stängt sin trut

När solen vaknar

Vad jag saknar

The wind is weak when the bells strike

My peppermint toy has a taste of yesterday

Though it's new for the day

I walk past a tobacco shop

Where a leaflet has a tab left

A laughing seagull and a tired soldier

That's my only audience

When the show is over…

The air is cool and the jacket is cold

On one wall it says "stop the war"

A black silhouette sneaks into Pigalle

And the last bus leaves

The night is short and the road is long

So I'm running to your house pretty fast

I'll throw a stone at your window once

But no one opens for me

When the show is over

And the piano is rolled out

So I'm alone

Equally lonely

Like I was before

When the show is over

Then the clown has closed his mouth

When the sun wakes up

What I miss

That the show is over
