NÄR DET LIDER MOT JUL

Det strålar en stjärna för underligt blid

I öster på himlen hon står

Hon lyst över världens oro och strid

I nära två tusenda år

När dagen blir mörk och när snön faller vit

Då skrider hon närmre, då kommer hon hit

Och då vet man att snart är det jul

Ty julen är härlig för stora och små

Är glädje och ljuvaste frid

Är klappar och julgran och ringdans också

Är lycka oändligen blid

Är ljust, allas ögon då stråla som bäst

Och stjärnorna tindra som mest

Och där ljuset är, där är det jul

Och då vet man att snart är det jul

WHEN IT SUFFERES AGAINST CHRISTMAS

It radiates a star for strangely gentle

To the east in the sky she stands

She is happy about the world's worries and struggles

For nearly two thousand years

When the day gets dark and when the snow falls white

Then she moves closer, then she comes here

And then you know that soon it's Christmas

Because Christmas is wonderful for big and small

Is joy and sweetest peace

There are pats and Christmas trees and ring dancing as well

Is happiness infinitely gentle

Is bright, everyone's eyes then radiate at their best

And the stars twinkle the most

And where the light is, there it is Christmas
