Немодный художник рисует на вечном холсте

Немые картинки, что тотчас смывает вода.

Помнишь ли ты, как мы жадно хотели смотреть?

А еще ты клялась ему в вечной любви, уходя навсегда.

Мы были наивны и даже в чем-то чисты,

Ведь любовь не стреляла еще в нас распятьем дорог.

Мы легко засыпали, но наши страшные сны

Бежали за нами и, настигнув, терлись у ног.

А он не вбивал в стену гвозди, не вешал холсты,

Он молча отправился в даль, улыбаясь тебе,

А мы теряли в похмелье цветы и остатки любви

И шли в никуда, ведь туда собираются все.

Когда я вернусь к картинкам на мокром песке,

И вспомню все то, что уже решил позабыть,

Мне старые раны дадут новый знак о тебе,

И заноют в руках эти ржавые гвозди любви.

An unfashionable artist draws on an eternal canvas

Silent pictures that immediately wash away the water.

Do you remember how eagerly we wanted to watch?

And you swore eternal love to him, leaving forever.

We were naive and even somewhat pure,

After all, love has not yet shot at us with a crucifixion of roads.

We fell asleep easily, but our terrible dreams

They ran after us and, having overtaken us, rubbed themselves at our feet.

And he did not drive nails into the wall, did not hang canvases,

He silently went into the distance, smiling at you,

And we lost flowers and remnants of love in a hangover

And they went nowhere, because everyone is going there.

When I return to the pictures in the wet sand,

And I will remember everything that I have already decided to forget,

Old wounds will give me a new sign about you,

And these rusty nails of love will ache in your hands.
