The ceiling’s the same as always

It’s right above my head in the hallway

Peeling of paint disguising a sound kinda faint

Leaving me rising

I’m wondering why

You’re in the picture at all now

Watching me waiting for my cue to fall down

Listen at the window the curtain remembers

You take a step back and i-i'll hit the floor

Every pane is cracked in the front door

Every drawer is packed

And still i found space in more

The ceiling’s the same as always

It’s right above my head in the hallway

You’ll get tired of it

Put it out of sight

And make the shadow and the lampshade

Take another look

And someone’s admiring it for all the time it took
