I woke and the dream was gone

I saw the blackest star

Swallowing up the ground

I saw towering flames

When it crashing down

I saw a stranger’s eye

Or was it my own

I saw the mirror break

And I was left alone

I dreamt the dreamer was lying

I dreamt that the dreamer was wrong

I dreamt the dreamer was dying

I woke and the dream was gone

I saw great pillars fall

Opening up the skies

I saw foundations razed

Saw it with my own eyes

I saw my own head wound

Strangely bathed in light

I saw the patterns dance

Like birds into the night

I dreamt the dreamer was lying

I dreamt that the dreamer was wrong

I dreamt the dreamer was dying

I woke and the dream was gone

I heard silence fall

When the noise was drowned

Under the sliding ground

I heard the quiet resound

I’ve dreamt a hundred times

Each time the same

And tonight when I dream

I’ll dream it all again
