Nå tennes tusen julelys

Det stråler rundt vår jord

Og himlens stjerner blinker ned

Til liten og til stor

Og over land og by i kveld

Går julens glade bud

Om han som fødtes i en stall

Vår Frelser og vår Gud

Du stjerne over Betlehem

Send dine stråler ned

Og minn oss om at julens bud

Er kjærlighet og fred

Til hver et fattig hjerte send

Et lysstreif ifra sky

Så finner det den rette vei

Og det blir jul på ny

Now a thousand Christmas candles are lit.

It radiates around our earth

And the stars of heaven flash down

To small and to large

And over land and city tonight

Goes the merry Christmas message

About him who was born in a stable

Our Savior and our God

You star over Bethlehem

Send your rays down

And remind us that Christmas commandments

Is love and peace

To each a poor heart send

A glimmer of light from a cloud

Then it finds the right path

And it's Christmas again
