ЗАМОК

Медленно рушатся стены

И зарастают травой;

Запахи праха и запахи тлена,

Ветра унылого вой…

Замок — приют привидений,

Лишь только выйдет Луна.

Полный волшебных видений —

В темном провале окна.

Рыцарей смелых сраженья.

Шум и веселье пиров,

Грозных империй паденье,

Тайн полуночных покров.

Всюду бурьян и терновник,

Да, по колено, дурман,

Ярко алеет шиповник,

Сизый клубится туман…

Древний камень точит вода,

Спуск в подвалы — узок и крут,

Ты ходить не вздумай туда,

Знай — живых там точно не ждут!

Солнца свет тает во тьме,

Призрак ходит, шурша,

По подземной тюрьме —

Прячься в пятки душа!

Солнце садится за башни,

Темные окна молчат —

Тот же для них день вчерашний,

Что и семьсот лет назад…

Всех тех, кого стены знали,

Уже не носит земля.

С оттенком легкой печали —

Запомнит Замок — меня…

Ancient stone wears away water,

The descent into the cellars is narrow and steep,
