Weit fort von jedem bekannten Land

Hinter den Grenzen, in Steine gebannt…

Dort ruht ein Geheimnis von dunkler Macht

Welches jedem, der’s sah, grosses unglück gebracht

Dort, verschlossen in tiefstem Gestein

Hinter der Brücke aus bleichem Gebein

Über dem See, der aus Tränen geweint

Wo das sanfte Licht der Unendlichkeit scheint

Dort siehst Du ihn schweben, sanft wie eine Feder

Und weiss es erst auch keiner, so spürt's alsbald ein jeder

Ein Spiegel aus kaltem, schwarzen Gestein…

Greift in Deine Seele, greift in Dein Sein

Und solltest Du je dort Dein Spiegelbild sehen

Wird augenblicklich Deine Seele verweh’n

Dein Geist kann die Leere in Dir nicht versteh’n

Und so wird auch Dein Körper sehr bald schon vergeh’n

So wächst nun die Brücke aus bleichen Gebeinen

Um dem, der nach Dir kommt, als Weg zu erscheinen…

Ihn weiter zu führ'n, in der Hoffnung auf Licht

Bis auch er dort am Schwarzen Spiegel zerbricht

Where the soft light of infinity shines

There you see it floating, soft as a feather

Reach into your soul, reach into your being

And should you ever see your reflection there

Your soul will vanish instantly

Your spirit cannot understand the emptiness in you

And so your body will also perish very soon

So now the bridge grows out of pale bones

To appear as a way to those who come after you...

To lead him further, in the hope of light

Until he too breaks there at the Black Mirror
