Da lag dicker Schnee auf dem Nachbarhaus

Jenny baute den Schneemann ans Gartentor

Und sagte ihm ins Ohr:

Schneemann

Schneemann!

Wer nicht küßt zur rechten Zeit

Schneemann!

Schneemann

Der bekommt nur das

Was übrig bleibt!

Jenny sagte: du brauchst dich nur umzuschau’n

Und baute ihm gleich drei Schneejungfrau’n

Aber er stand nun da so stumm und weiß

Und blieb so kalt wie Eis!

Schneemann …

Aber dann im April war er so allein

Die Tränen flossen im Sonnenschein

Jenny sagte: Goodbye bis zum nächsten Jahr

Schon war er nicht mehr da!

Schneemann …

There was thick snow on the neighboring house

Jenny built the snowman on the garden gate

And said in his ear:

snowman!

Who does not kiss at the right time

snowman!

He only gets that

What's left!

Jenny said: you just have to look around

And built him three snow maidens

But he now stood there so dumb and white

And stayed as cold as ice!

The tears flowed in the sunshine

Jenny said goodbye until next year

He was no longer there!
