Flüsternd Schutz umgab mich einst

Nun schweigst du, sagst nicht mehr ein Wort

Als Kind hört´ ich in mich hinein

Heut bin ich Mann und du bist fort!

Meine innere Stimme, ich hör dich nicht!

Zumeist ließ ich dich einfach stehn

Ließ deinen Ratschlag Ratschlag sein

Was geschah, ließ ich geschehn

Als Schicksal — mehr fiel mir nicht ein!

Doch heut begreif ich, was ich brauch

Vernunft allein, macht keinen Sinn

Ich brauch dich, das Gefühl im Bauch

Was warnend mir zu denken gibt!

Most of the time I just let you stand

But now I understand what I need
