Flüsternd Schutz umgab mich einst

Nun schweigst du, sagst nicht mehr ein Wort

Als Kind hört´ ich in mich hinein

Heut bin ich Mann und du bist fort!

Kein Raunen, warnend Fingerzeig

Nicht das kleinste Notsignal

Kommt mehr von dir, wohin ist die Zeit

Die uns verbunden, die mal war?

Wo bist du hin?

Zumeist ließ ich dich einfach stehn

Ließ deinen Ratschlag Ratschlag sein

Was geschah, ließ ich geschehn

Als Schicksal — mehr fiel mir nicht ein!

Doch heut begreif ich, was ich brauch

Vernunft allein, macht keinen Sinn

Ich brauch dich, das Gefühl im Bauch

Was warnend mir zu denken gibt!

Not the slightest distress signal
